First Time (Part 3) - Shinkansen!

This is my first ride on a Shinkansen @ Bullet Train; from Tokyo Station to a ski resort in Niigata, and back (about 1 hour 30 minutes). Equipped with restrooms, this bi-level "double-decker" train can go up to 240km/hour.

Going back to Tokyo on an express train after skiing

Yours truly was totally amazed with Japan's technology :)

Of Malaysia's UNESCO World Heritage Site & 4095.2 meters above sea level!

My dream to conquer the 4th highest peak in South East Asia finally came true last July 2010. Mount Kinabalu, located in Sabah stood at 4095.2 meters above sea level & is also a UNESCO WHS of Malaysia (Under Kinabalu Park).
Training started 8 months before the real climb - jogging, dumbbell exercise, stairs climbing. The journey was tough....but the experience was...PRICELESS!

The majestic Mount Kinabalu (view from Kundasang)
Ascend - Mesilau trail (9.00am); Descend - Timpohon trail
Arrived at Laban Rata Resthouse at 4.12pm (photo taken at about 6pm+, after dinner & bath)
Low's Peak - the highest peak on Mt Kinabalu @ 6am the next day (journey started @ 2.30am)
Familiar? This is Southern Peak (look behind your behind RM1 note)
Breathtaking view from the Peaks
Wow! Amazed with Nature's creation :)
So steep~~It was really cold up there!

First Time (Part 2)

Dinner Party - we had 2 platters of this delivered to the house

This was the first time I saw real big ikura (salmon roe) on sushi, and I mean REAL big! Unlimited sushi with free flow of beer for dinner that night. Some co-workers from Korea attended this dinner party at Sensei's house, had a good time chatting with them about Korean actors & actresses. They have no idea that "Autumn in My Heart", "Lovers in Paris", "Goong", and "Gu Jun Pyo" are so famous in Malaysia! Sort of impressed them with the few Korean words that I learnt from watching those K-dramas..hehehe :P

To me, the sushi was Oishii~~(Delicious!). But Sensei said those are only so-so & we will go have something better the next day! Yahoooo~~

Sensei brought me to a Sushi-Ya called Sushi Zanmai located near the Tsukiji Fish Market, the famous market where they auction off Blue Fin Tuna. Sushi shops located nearby this market are said to have the freshest sushi!
Just tell the chef at the counter what you want & he'll make the sushi on the spot...

Sushi Chef at the counter : Dozo~~
Me : Itadakimasu~~~
The first platter of Nigiri-zushi
The Top Grade Blue Fin Tuna Nigiri-zushi & Temaki-zushi

*Speechless* This is the best! Each one is so artistic & delicious!! Sensei ordered 2 plates of this, so I ate to my heart's content!

Me : Oishii~~~
Sushi Chef at the counter : Haik!
Me : Gochiso-sama deshita :)

Stay tune for more interesting photos.

Yours truly (is hungry now).
